UK Samba mixes traditional Brazilian rhythms with reggae, dance, swing and drum'n'bass to create a unique blend of infectious carnival rhythms.

Started in 2000, Norwich Samba now has over 50 members of all ages and backgrounds. The band uses a range of percussion instruments that produce the typically exciting sound of the Rio Carnival with a UK twist. The band and its dancers rehearse every Tuesday evening at The Talk, Norwich where new members are welcomed at any time.

Norwich Samba give vibrant and exciting performances at local carnivals and events. This summer they can be seen playing an infectious mix of Brazilian rhythms and modern beats at events across East Anglia and beyond. The band is also available for hire at private events and our Musical Directors are available to run workshops for education or team building.

Coronavirus Update - 1st June 2021 - Rehearsals are Back

We have managed to secure the Norfolk Showground Arena for 4 rehearsals during June, starting Friday 11th June. The venue is huge, accessible and ‘Covid licensed’ so we can start before full restrictions are lifted – we are not restricted to 30 people, and can rehearse socially distanced without face masks (although masks should be worn on arrival and whilst we are setting up). Unfortunately, we couldn’t get Tuesday nights, but have got alternate Fridays and Wednesdays, so the rehearsals will be on:

• Fri 11th June
• Wed 16th June
• Fri 25th June
• Weds 30th June

All rehearsals will be 7-10pm. And all are welcome – old & new, no experience necessary. Just turn up and have a go!
